Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous providers illegally importing or purchasing products that are not FDA Approved. Is it painful?

No, it is not painful. Most people would describe some discomfort but tolerable. We apply a high grade medical numbing cream to the treatment areas. We allow the numbing cream to absorb for 30 minutes before the doctor performing your injections. We also utilize cryotherapy (either with medical ice rollers or our Zimmer machine) to add additional numbing just before and after injections. Cryotherapy also helps to reduce inflammation and bruising. You can drive yourself after your treatment.

Can Cosmetic Dermal Fillers be used in other areas?

Yes, Cosmetic Dermal Fillers have been approved for use in other areas of the Face and Hands to revolumize, and smoothen for a youthful glow. The JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, which is not listed above, is not typically used in the lip enhancement procedures but is used in cheeks to revolumize and lift the midface to provide a more rested youthful look. Are these Fillers Silicone-based products?

NO. These products are not Silicone injections or Silicone based. Please see the information on Hyaluronic acid above.

Silicone injections (not be confused with implants) in the lips are not FDA-approved and carry serious risks. In the past, physicians were injecting small drops of silicone into the lips. Unfortunately, silicone migrates and can end up in areas outside the lips, and can create undesirable lumps. Removing free-floating or migrating silicone can be extremely difficult and prove to be impossible in some cases. In 2017, the FDA issued a warning against using injectable silicone for cosmetic use, saying that “The only FDA-approved injectable silicone is silicone oil for specific intraocular ophthalmic [inside the eye] use.”
